Same-day t-shirt printing in Boise is possible — but a few things have to line up. At Eagle Ridge Apparel in Meridian (about 10 minutes from downtown Boise on Eagle Road), we run rush orders regularly, and this post will tell you exactly what makes one work versus what causes a same-day job to slip to the next morning.
What "Same-Day" Actually Means for Custom Shirts
Same-day turnaround means your shirts are printed, pressed, and ready for pickup the same calendar day you place the order. That's a real thing we do. It is not, however, a guarantee you can call in at 4:45 PM and pick up 36 shirts by 5:00. Honest answer: most same-day rushes need a print-ready file (or at least a clean logo) in hand before noon.
The decoration method also matters. DTF (direct-to-film) printing is our go-to for rush orders because there's no screen setup, no color-count restrictions, and we can print full-color art on a single shirt just as easily as on 50. Screen printing, by contrast, requires screens to be burned for each color — that adds setup time that makes true same-day turnaround harder to promise unless you're ordering a simpler one-color design.
The Three Things That Make or Break a Rush Order
1. Your Artwork File
A clean vector file (AI, EPS, or high-res PNG with transparent background) is the difference between printing in an hour and spending three hours on revisions. If you only have a blurry JPEG from your phone, we can usually work with it — but same-day becomes a tighter squeeze. Send the file over before you even confirm the order so we can check it first. (We offer free digitizing on the first run, which covers embroidery setups, but for DTF we just need a clean print-ready file.)
2. Blank Shirt Availability
We stock a solid selection of Bella+Canvas, Gildan, and Next Level blanks in Meridian. Common colors — black, white, navy, heather gray — are almost always on the shelf. If you need 60 shirts in a specific sport-specific color for a Boise State tailgate this Saturday, call ahead so we can confirm inventory rather than assuming.
3. Order Size and Complexity
A typical same-day rush for us looks like this: 12–24 shirts, one design, two or three colors, front chest placement, clean artwork submitted by 10 AM. That's very doable. A 200-piece order with front, back, and sleeve printing across four colorways is not a same-day job — not for us, not for anyone in the Treasure Valley.
If you're not sure whether your order qualifies, send us the details and we'll tell you straight — no obligation, no runaround.
Pricing on Rush T-Shirt Orders
Rush doesn't automatically mean a markup, but it depends on what you need. A 12-piece DTF order on Gildan 5000s with a single logo typically runs in the $12–$18 per shirt range, depending on design complexity and placement count. Bella+Canvas 3001 (the soft retail-fit shirt a lot of Boise events and breweries prefer) runs a bit higher on the blank cost, which moves the finished price up accordingly.
We don't charge setup fees and we have no minimum order requirement on most jobs. That said, if you need one shirt by end of day, expect the per-unit price to reflect the time it takes to run a single piece through the press.
Who's Calling Us for Same-Day Shirts?
Honestly, it's a pretty specific list. A lot of our rush orders come from:
- Event coordinators who had a vendor fall through the week of a conference or festival at the Boise Centre or Ford Idaho Center.
- Youth sports teams in Meridian, Eagle, and Nampa whose gear didn't arrive in time for a tournament.
- Small businesses opening a new location and realizing staff shirts weren't ordered until the week before.
- Family reunion organizers who underestimated how long standard shipping takes from an online-only printer.
The common thread: something slipped through the cracks and now there's a hard deadline. We get it. That's exactly the gap we're set up to fill.
Embroidery vs. DTF for Rush Orders
Embroidery is our most-requested decoration method overall, but it's slower than DTF for rush jobs. A polo with an embroidered chest logo takes longer to run per piece than a DTF transfer — especially for larger quantities. If your same-day need is a dress shirt or structured hat where DTF won't look right, we'll tell you that upfront and give you an honest timeline.
For most rush t-shirt needs, DTF is the call. The print quality is sharp, the colors hold up through washes, and we're not waiting on screens or digitizing queues.

How We Make This Stuff
Everything covered in this post is produced in our Meridian, Idaho shop at 2700 E Lanark St. Eagle Ridge Apparel is a family-run print shop serving the Treasure Valley since 2019 — we embroider, screen print, DTF, sublimate, laser-cut leather patches, laser-engrave drinkware, and UV-print promotional goods on equipment we operate ourselves. No outsourced decoration, no overseas fulfillment, no third-party middlemen.
Most custom apparel orders ship in 7–10 business days from approved mockup. Rush production in 3–5 business days is available on most decoration methods; embroidered hats are the tightest constraint. We hold no minimums on any decoration type — order one piece or one thousand — though pricing scales aggressively over 50, 100, and 250-piece tiers. Free digital mockups before production starts. We don't begin a run until you sign off on what it'll look like.
Two ways to order: design it yourself online in our designer tool (any quantity, any decoration method), or request a custom quote and we'll send back pricing within one business day. Talk to a real person — email info@eagleridgeapparel.com or send us a message, and most inquiries get a response within two hours during the business day.
