Summer church camps are the rite of passage for youth ministries across the Treasure Valley. Girls camp in June (most common in late June/early July), boys' high adventure trips in July, family camps in August. Each has its own apparel rhythm and budget. Here's the practical guide to ordering camp shirts that don't blow the budget or the deadline.
Girls camp shirts (June–early July)
Annual girls camp shirts are usually 40–120 pieces depending on attendance. Common design approach: theme tee with year + 'Girls Camp [Year]' on the front, sometimes with each girl's name on the back.
Cost: $9–$15 per shirt at 50+ pieces. Add $1–$2 per piece for individual names on the back via DTF.
Production timing: order by mid-April for late-June camp week. Most girls camp coordinators come to us in March with the theme + roster.
Boys' high adventure shirts (July)
Boys' high adventure trips usually have smaller team sizes (8–24 youth + leaders) but more rugged design themes. Common design approach: trip location + year on front, team motto on back, sometimes with elevation gain or trip distance integrated.
Cost: $12–$18 per shirt at 12+ pieces. DTF or screen print depending on color count.
Production timing: order by early May for July trip. High adventure trips often book apparel last-minute as the trip details solidify.
Boys' summer camp shirts
Boys' summer camps (separate from high adventure) usually run 40–100 pieces with a camp theme + year. Similar design pattern to girls camp but often with more masculine or sports-oriented theme art.
Cost: $9–$15 per shirt at 50+ pieces.
Family camp shirts (August)
Family camps include multi-generational attendees — toddlers through grandparents in the same camp. Apparel orders are large (often 100–400 pieces) with broad sizing distribution.
Common design: camp name + year, sometimes with family-grouping by color (each family unit picks one color, multi-color same-design order).
Cost: $8–$14 per shirt at 100+ pieces. Bulk economics scale fast at family camp volumes.
Scout troop summer camp shirts
Custom shirts for scouting program summer camps. We use generic phrasing (we don't use 'Boy Scouts' or 'Cub Scouts' branding because those are BSA-registered trademarks) but happily make troop-specific shirts with your troop number, camp location, and design.
Cost: $11–$17 per shirt at 24+ pieces with DTF. Per-troop personalization (troop number, leader names) handled at no extra setup fee.
Mixed-size camp orders
Camp orders span the full sizing range — toddler 2T through adult 3XL on the same order. No setup charges for the mix. Just send us the roster with each camper's size and we produce accordingly.
Counselor + staff differentiation
Many camps order counselor/staff shirts in a DIFFERENT blank color than camper shirts. Same design, different color. Counselors are easy to spot for kids needing help. This is essentially free — same design setup, just multiple blank colors.
Production timing across the camp season
- April: order summer camp shirts for June–July camps
- May: order family camp shirts for August camps
- June: order any last-minute high adventure shirts
Standard production 10–14 business days, rush 5–7 days. Build in 4–6 weeks before camp week for safety.
