What Is DTF Printing? A Complete Guide for 2026

DTF stands for Direct-to-Film. Your design is printed onto a special PET film in full color, coated with adhesive, and heat-pressed onto the garment.

How It Works

1. Design printed on film. 2. Adhesive powder applied. 3. Cured in oven. 4. Heat pressed onto garment at 320F for 15 seconds.

Advantages Over Screen Printing

No color limits. No minimums. No setup fees. Faster turnaround. Works on dark fabrics with built-in white ink base.

Durability

DTF prints last 50+ wash cycles. Wash inside out in cold water, tumble dry low.

What Fabrics Work?

Cotton, polyester, blends, nylon, canvas — virtually any fabric. Eagle Ridge Apparel handles DTF printing with no minimums. Call (208) 954-9492.
