What to LEAVE OFF the shirt
Three things some teams include that they shouldn't:
- Specific denomination identifiers in countries where certain Christian groups face restrictions or attention. Generic 'Mission Trip' is safer than 'Baptist Mission' or 'Methodist Mission' in some destinations.
- Country of origin flags if you're traveling to a country with complicated relations with the US. American flag on the back of a mission trip tee in some destinations attracts more attention than you want.
- Aggressive political statements of any kind. Mission trip shirts represent your team for 10 days in a foreign country; keep them apolitical.
