Club volleyball season is a tournament economy — every weekend is a deadline, every deadline is uniform-tight. If you're a first-time club coach or assistant, the apparel coordination alone can absorb 5+ hours per tournament. Here's the complete checklist we've assembled from working with 14U through 18U club teams across Idaho and Eastern Oregon.
Game uniforms — order 6+ weeks before season
- Sublimated jerseys in two colors (home + away). 14U and 16U typically just need one color.
- Matching spandex in team colors. Sublimated to match the jersey.
- Knee pads — we don't make these but can source-and-deliver alongside your order to keep everything coordinated.
- Player names + numbers printed into the jersey via sublimation. Confirm the team roster BEFORE submitting to production.
Pre-game warm-ups — order with uniforms
- Warm-up tees in team colors. Screen-printed or DTF, cotton or moisture-wicking poly.
- Warm-up shorts — usually skip; players wear their game spandex.
- Team hoodies for cold gyms and travel days. Embroidered or printed.
Tournament travel gear
- Team backpacks embroidered with player name + number for tournament identification.
- Coach polos embroidered with club logo + 'Coach' or staff role.
- Parent / supporter shirts — big sellers at tournaments. Run through a team store so parents order their own sizes.
Supporter merch — the team store opportunity
Tournament weekends are the best time to capture supporter merch revenue. Parents, grandparents, and siblings want team-color gear. Run a team store window starting 4 weeks before the first tournament:
- Mom + dad team color tees ($16–$22 each)
- Grandma hoodie in team colors ($28–$38)
- Sibling youth tees ($10–$15)
- Team bumper stickers + magnets ($3–$5)
Most clubs net $200–$600 in supporter sales per tournament weekend with no coach effort — the team store handles everything.
Mid-season add-ons + tournament rush jobs
If a player joins mid-season or someone needs a replacement jersey for a tournament next weekend, call us as soon as you know. We can rush a single replacement jersey in 5 business days with no setup fee on the reorder. Tell us the tournament date upfront and we'll work backwards.
The pre-tournament packing checklist
For each tournament weekend, every player needs:
- Game jersey + backup
- Matching spandex + backup
- Knee pads
- Warm-up tee + warm-up hoodie
- Team backpack
- Water bottle
- Hair ties + bobby pins (we don't sell these)
Send this checklist to parents 3 days before each tournament. Saves the 'wait, my kid forgot her jersey' panic at 6 AM Saturday.
